Longview police identify pedestrian killed on Pine Tree Road

LONGVIEW, Texas — A pedestrian who died in a crash May 1 on Pine Tree Road in Longview was close to home when she was killed, according to a police report.

The report obtained through a request for public information identified the 60-year-old woman as Cheryl Renae Templeton. The wreck occurred shortly before 9 p.m. in the area of Pine Tree Road and East Broadway Avenue, blocks from where she lived on Rosedale Street.

“During the investigation, officers determined a Ram pickup truck was traveling northbound in the inside lane approaching East Broadway Drive,” police previously said in a Facebook post. “A pedestrian, an adult female, attempted to cross Pine Tree Road walking westbound and failed to yield the right of way to the vehicle and they collided. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital and later died from injuries.”
