NACOGDOCHES, Texas — An East Texas man drowned on a local lake Saturday evening.
According to the Nacogdoches Police Department, officers were called to Lake Nacogdoches around 7:10 p.m., on reports of a possible drowning.
“After an extensive search by first responders and civilians on scene the Nacogdoches Police and Fire Rescue Dive Team were requested to assist,” the NPD said. “The divers were able to locate the deceased victim hours later near where he was last seen going under the water. Preliminary information gathered at the scene indicate the victim was swimming with family and friends when he was last scene.”
The victim was identified as Caleb Arthurs, 37, of Nacogdoches.
His body was sent for autopsy.
