TYLER, Texas — Good evening East Texas,
A late season heat dome is building across the central and southern plains. This includes East Texas where we will see highs climb in to the mid-90s through Saturday. The heat dome begins to flatten on Sunday pushing the hottest air to the Gulf coast. This means a slowing cold front will drape itself across East Texas by Monday night. We'll have to see how it sets up but there is a chance that widespread rain chances could develop by Tuesday afternoon. Either way, it looks like cooler temperatures are on the way for the first week of fall.
Here's your forecast:
TONIGHT:
The sky is expected to be clear again tonight. Combine the clear sky with a light wind and high humidity and you get another chance for patchy fog, this time in Deep East Texas. Overnight lows will drop into the low 70s.
TOMORROW:
The heat gradually builds Thursday. There will be plenty of sunshine coupled with a variable wind and we should high temperatures climb into the mid-90s with a feels like temperature closer to 100.
