CBS19 WEATHER: High pressure system to bring warm, dry weather this week

Check out the latest forecast from the CBS19 Weather Experts.

TYLER, Texas — Good morning and happy Monday East Texas,

This is the final week of summer before fall officially starts on Sunday... and summer is going out with a bang.  This week, high pressure will take control of our weather pattern and bring above average temperatures. Thursday we will warm to within two degrees of our daily record.  Sunday, a cold front is on the way, taking temperatures back to the low 90s.

Here's your forecast:

TODAY:

Expect a mostly sunny and seasonal start to the work week.  This afternoon, the rose city will hit 89 degrees, which is exactly the average for this time of year.  Across the Piney Woods, highs will range between the mow 80s and mid 90s. The majority of East Texas will enjoy mostly sunny skies, but a low-end rain will stay with our northeastern most counties today.

TOMORROW:

Tomorrow will be a rinse and repeat of today.  You'll need a jacket in the morning, but you can shed some layers in the afternoon.  That's when we will once again warm to the upper 80s and low 90s.  Wind will blow lightly out of the north east, bringing in humid air from the remains of "Francine."
