CBS19 WEATHER: Summer's final Friday or should we say, fry-day.

Check out the latest forecast from the CBS19 Weather Experts.

TYLER, Texas — Good evening, East Texas,

Wow was it hot! Tyler hit a high of 97-degrees. That was just one degree off the record high of 98. Longview and Lufkin both registered afternoon high temperatures of 94 degrees. We have more heat on the way Friday and into the weekend. The heat will ease a bit next week with small chances for rain and highs gradually cooling off into the 80s by the middle of next week.

Here's your forecast:

TONIGHT:

Any afternoon clouds will quickly dissipate this evening leaving us with a clear sky, a light wind a clammy feel to the overnight hours. There could be a few patches of fog in Deep East Texas but the majority of us will enjoy a clear and calm night with an overnight low in the mid-70s.

TOMORROW:

More heat on the way Friday. A south to southwest wind will tap into hotter air over Central Texas. This will result in highs near 100-degrees over much of East Texas. Factor in the humidity and we'll see our heat index soar into the 100 to 103 range Friday afternoon. That means it's going to the hottest Friday night for Under The Lights, so dress for warm weather and remember to drink plenty of water before you head out to the game.
