Mavericks beat Timberwolves, advance to the NBA Finals

The Mavericks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 124-103 in Game 5 of the western conference finals to win the best-of-seven series, 4-1.

MINNEAPOLIS — For the first time since 2011, the Dallas Mavericks have advanced to the NBA Finals.

The Mavericks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 124-103 in Game 5 of the western conference finals to win the best-of-seven series, 4-1.

Kyrie Irving lead the way for the Mavericks in Game 5 with 36 points, 5 assist and 4 rebounds. Luka Doncic added 36 points, including 20 in the first quarter, 10 rebounds and 5 assist. Doncic was awarded the Western Conference Finals MVP.

Dallas will play the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals starting June, 6. The Mavericks were 0-2 vs the Celtics in the regular season losing, 119-110 and 138-110.
