WODEN, Texas — A student in Nacogdoches County died after a long battle with liver disease.
Brady Taylor, the Woden ISD superintendent, confirmed Thursday that a high school student died after a long battle with liver disease.
"The passing of a student is a difficult and challenging situation that can generate anxiety and distress for some students," Taylor said. "During this time, as the school community processes this news and copes with grief, we will offer counseling support services to all our students and staff."
Taylor said a team of counselors, a school psychologist and trained Region 7 Educational Service Center counselling staff will be present to provide support to student and staff members in need. The district asked that anyone who feels they need to speak to a counselor to contact the campus administration.
"This is a difficult time for all of us, but I know that our students, staff, and community will unite to work through this together," Taylor said.
