Whitehouse ISD superintendent says he's grateful for opportunities as he heads off to San Angelo ISD in January

Under Dr. Christopher Moran's leadership, Whitehouse ISD achieved numerous milestones, including the success of the 2016 bond election.

WHITEHOUSE, Texas — Whitehouse ISD Superintendent Dr. Christopher Moran is set to embark on a new chapter in January outside of East Texas as he will head off to lead San Angelo ISD in West Texas.

SAISD announced earlier this week Moran was named the lone finalist for their superintendent role. Trustees at San Angelo will have to wait 21 days before voting to name Moran superintendent as per state guidelines.

WISD board of trustees is diligently crafting a framework to search for his successor.

Reflecting on his time with the district, Moran said he's grateful for the opportunities to teach, coach and serve as superintendent. He credited the district's remarkable people as the driving force behind its excellence.

Under Dr. Moran's leadership, Whitehouse ISD achieved numerous milestones, including the success of the 2016 bond election aimed at enhancing facilities and benefiting the community.

Despite not actively seeking a new position, Moran said friends in San Angelo encouraged him to consider the opportunity, citing alignment with his values as a key factor in his decision.

Sharing his affection for the staff, Moran emphasized the unparalleled quality of education in Whitehouse.

"I love each one of them. We've got a really great thing going on here in Whitehouse," Moran said. "I have full confidence that the board and this district will select someone to carry on the great things happening."
