UPDATE: Bullard Police confirm murder/suicide which killed mother, children, injured 8-month-old girl

On Sept. 1, 4-year-old Madilynn "May May" Evans and 2-year-old Maison "Mace Mace" Evans were found dead alongside their mother Tatyanna Smith, 25.

BULLARD, Texas — The Bullard Police Department on Thursday confirmed a shooting in September that killed a woman and two of her children has been ruled a murder-suicide.

On Sept. 1, 4-year-old Madilynn "May May" Evans and 2-year-old Maison "Mace Mace" Evans were found dead alongside their mother Tatyanna Smith, 25, in a home in the 500 block of Guinn St., near Bullard High School.  Smith's youngest child, 8-month-old Lyric Minter, was injured in the incident.

Bullard Police said Thursday the incident was classified as an isolated incident of a double murder/suicide.

"We appreciate the cooperation of the community and media, throughout the course of this investigation, as we want to ensure accurate information is released," Bullard Police Chief Jeff Bragg said. "With an incident of this magnitude there are many forensic analyses that must be conducted and some of that takes extended periods of time."

Bragg also confirmed the 8-month-old child has been released from the hospital and is with family.

"In conclusion, The Bullard Police Department is kindly asking the community to respect the privacy of the families during this difficult time," Bragg said. "Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated."
