BULLARD, Texas — Police have identified the woman found dead and the youngest child who was injured in a Bullard shooting Sunday night.
Bullard police officers found two children and a woman dead in a home in the 500 block of Guinn St., near Bullard High School. The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. A third child, who was in critical condition, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Chief Jeff Bragg on Tuesday identified the woman as Tatyanna Smith, 25, and the injured child as 8-month-old Lyric Minter, who is in the ICU in Dallas.
The organizer of a GoFundMe and the older children's father identified the deceased children as 4-year-old Madilynn "May May" Evans and 2-year-old Maison "Mace Mace" Evans.
Police also said Smith is the mother of all three children. All three bodies were sent to a facility for autopsies.
Bragg said there's no person of interest in this case at this time, and multiple people have been contacted as part of the investigation.
"This is with extreme sadness and an extremely heavy heart that our family is even needing to reach out, so we can help properly bury two precious innocent children. As a family, we were completely blindsided and are still in shock this is even happening," the GoFundMe description reads.
The fundraiser is seeking $30,000 to fund the unexpected funeral expenses and other costs that the children's father, Thomas Evans Sr., and their family will incur while dealing with this unexpected tragic loss.
The organizer of the fundraiser asked people to be in prayer for the entire family's healing and strength.
"May May and Mace Mace, you will always hold a special place in all our hearts. You were treasured and loved more than you know. Our hearts are torn into a million pieces," the fundraiser information reads.
Services and arrangements remain pending at this time.
