Tyler Parks and Recreation Department launches free Summer Playground Program

The program consists of daily activities like sports, arts and crafts, games, and "Friday Fun Days," which includes water activities.

TYLER, Texas — The Tyler Parks and Recreation Department launched their Summer Playground Program.

The Summer Playground Program is open for children ages 6 to 12, and runs until Aug. 2. It is open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is free of cost. Two staff members accompany the kids each day.

The program consists of daily activities like sports, arts and crafts, games, and "Friday Fun Days," which includes water activities.

Children in the program will also be served breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is served from 9 to 10 a.m., and lunch is served from noon to 1 p.m. 

The program will be held at P.T. Cole Park at 1000 S. Vine St. as well as Emmett J. Scott Park at 1710 N. Confederate Ave.
