TYLER, Texas — A Smith County judge found a Tyler man guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which stems from him pulling out a gun and threatening an employee during an argument at a Tyler Walmart in September.

Trumaine Washington, 33, went through a bench trial, which means a judge hears the evidence to make a verdict, in the 241st District Court.

Judge Jack Skeen Jr. deliberated Tuesday for about two hours before the verdict was reached. Both the prosecution and defense rested after presenting evidence for two days.
