Tyler intersections to experience road closures, traffic delays during ONYX Project repavement

Starting June 24, crews will begin sealing treatment on intersections across the city of Tyler between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting.

TYLER, Texas — Crews are scheduled to begin sealing treatment for intersections in Tyler as part of the ONYX Project.

Starting June 24, crews will begin sealing treatment on intersections across the city of Tyler between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. During this time, drivers can expect delays, lane closures and road closures in the area. Contractors will place door notices on the doors in the neighborhood informing them of ongoing road work, according to the city of Tyler.

The city of Tyler released a list of intersections that will be affected by the ONYX Project.

Buena Vista Drive:  W. Azalea Drive to Graham Drive.

Bowie Drive: W. Azalea Drive to San Jacinto Drive.

Bowie Cir.: Dead end to San Jacinto Drive.

Alamo Drive: W. Azalea Drive to San Jacinto Drive, S. Vine Ave. to San Jacinto Drive.

W. Azalea Drive: Robertson Ave. to Terra Haute Drive.

Crockett Drive: San Jacinto Drive to dead end.

Austin Drive: Robertson Ave. to San Jacinto Drive, San Jacinto Drive to dead end.

Milam Drive: San Jacinto Drive to Robertson Ave..

Goliad St.: San Jacinto Drive to Robertson Ave..

Vineyard Ave.: Lake Placid Road to dead end.

Hampton Hill Drive: Sutherland Drive to Wilderness + 150', Wilderness - 150' to dead end.

Bedford Drive: Sutherland Drive to Hampton Hill Drive.

Victoria Ct.: Bedford Drive to dead end.

The 2024 ONYX Project is an initiative contracted through Innovative Roadway Solutions, LLC, that involves ONYX seal treatment for 17 lane miles of city streets. ONYX is a surface treatment that prolongs the life of the street and makes roads safer to drive on, according to the city of Tyler.

According to the city of Tyler, construction is expected to end July 12.
