TYLER, Texas — Tyler Animal Services will waive adoption fees for dogs and cats throughout the month of June with the donation of at least six bags of dog or cat food weighing 15 lbs or less.
The organization says these measures will help restock the Community Pet Food Bank, which aims to help those who can't afford to feed their pets and provide a safety net for families with animals. According to the city of Tyler, many times people who want to surrender a pet only need time to recover from a temporary financial struggle.
The Pet Food Bank has distributed more than 32,000 lbs of food and litter since its creation, and all donated items go back into the community and are not used by the shelter, according to a press release from the city of Tyler.
All animals adopted from Tyler Animal Services have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and received their vaccinations. If you would like to adopt, see all pets available for adoption or submit an application, visit the Tyler Animal Services webpage here.
