Smith County Animal Control asks for public's help as shelter nears maximum capacity

The shelter is located at 322 E. Ferguson St. and open from Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

TYLER, Texas — As the Smith County Animal Shelter is getting to close to maximum capacity, the shelter is asking community members to help.

In a Facebook post, the shelter said the community is needed to give some four-legged friends their forever homes.

"We would love for our community to come out to our shelter and find a dog that would warm their loving hearts and cuddle with them," the shelter's post read.

The post added someone's act of kindness toward a dog can make a wonderful impact in their life.

People interested in adopting can find a list of dogs at the shelter here.  Those who have questions can call the shelter at 903-266-4303. The shelter is located at 322 E. Ferguson St. and open from Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
