Former Trinity County deputy dies after complications from stroke

Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace confirmed that former Deputy Clint Driskell, 56, died Saturday following complications from a stroke he suffered on-duty.

TRINITY COUNTY, Texas — A former sheriff's deputy in Trinity County has died.

Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace confirmed Thursday that former Deputy Clint Driskell, 56, died Saturday following complications from a stroke he suffered while on duty. Driskell joined the Trinity County Sheriff's Office in January 2013, and worked for 6 months before his stroke.

The incident left him partially paralyzed, Wallace said. Though he intended to return to active duty, his condition worsened over time and he was unable.

"Clint loved his job and was an excellent deputy. We ask that you keep his family in your prayers as they begin life without their son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, or friend," Wallace said. "May Clint rest high on that mountain and in the arms of our lord and may God comfort his family and friends."
