LINDALE, Texas — Lindale Floral and Lindale High School partnered up Wednesday morning to hand out thousands of flowers to random people as part of "Petal it Forward."
"Petal it Forward" is a nationwide event by the Society of American Florist that aims to brighten someones day by giving them flowers.
Each person is given two flowers, one to keep and another to give away.
"When you get flowers it's just hard not to be happy when you get them," Owner of Lindale Floral Jennifer Darr said.
"You start everyone's day off with a sweet little flower arrangement and then who knows how far it's going to go," Lindale Floral Manager Shay Jacobs said.
Students in a floral design class at the high school put together bouquets on Tuesday in preparation for the event.
At the start of school this morning, they handed out the flowers to parents and students as they arrived.
Lindale Floral handed out flowers to people as they drove by their shop. They also went out into the community to give out flowers.
