Kilgore ISD receives $25,000 for bus tracking software

The new software will give parents to ability to have real-time access to the location of their student's bus and accurate arrival and departure times.

KILGORE, Texas — Kilgore ISD received $25,000 from Claycomb Associate Architects on Monday that will go towards purchasing bus tracking software.

The donation will allow the district to implement state-of-the-art bus tracking technology with the goal to increase communication between the district, parents, and students.

The new software will give parents to ability to have real-time access to the location of their student's bus and accurate arrival and departure times while on their bus routes.

Kilgore ISD said in a press release, "by providing parents with timely and accurate information about their child's bus, the district aims to reduce wait times, minimize disruptions, and enhance the overall experience for students and families."

The bus tracking software is planned to be implemented in time for the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year.
