How much rain, wind did Beryl bring to East Texas?

TYLER, Texas — Tropical Storm Beryl headed out of East Texas late Monday night and into early Tuesday morning, leaving behind some flooded roads and areas of storm damage. 

But how much rain did East Texas cities see throughout Monday as the tropical storm weakened into a depression?

Rainfall totals show Jacksonville saw 5.96 inches, Frankston had 4.56 inches and Longview received 3.54 inches. The Andy Woods area in Tyler recorded 3.51 inches. In Mineola, residents saw 1.98 inches of rainfall. Over in Cushing, the rainfall totaled 1.75 inches.

Wind was also a significant element of the storm, including wind gusts ranging from over 60 to around 45 mph across the region. Lufkin recorded the top wind gusts of 63 mph, while Tyler saw 53 mph. In Nacogdoches, residents saw 46 mph wind gusts. In Longview and Crockett, both cities saw 45 mph wind gusts.

After moving through East Texas, the remnants of Beryl headed toward Arkansas. For Tuesday, East Texans should expect sunshine starting in the morning!
