Free trash day in Gregg County begins June 22

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., residents of Gregg County can drop off solid waste at locations across the county for free.

GREGG COUNTY, Texas — Gregg County is holding a free trash day on June 22 in an effort to "Keep Gregg County beautiful."

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., residents of Gregg County can drop off solid waste at locations across the county for free. County officials have outlined acceptable items for drop-off:

  • Two tires, 20 inches or smaller per person
  • Bulk items
  • Household trash
  • Unwanted appliances

The county also listed items that will not be acceptable for drop-off:

  • Televisions
  • Propane tanks
  • Electronics
  • Paint
  • Batteries
  • Chemicals

Residents looking to drop off any accepted items can do so at the following locations:

  • Precinct 1 Barn: 1179 FM 449, Longview
  • Precinct 2 Barn: 3313 Pine Tree, Longview
  • Precinct 3 Barn: 6174 FM 2206 (Harrison Road), Longview
  • Precinct 4 Barn: 710 W. MLK Blvd., Kilgore
