Funeral services announced for 2 children killed in Bullard shooting

Eight-month-old Lyric Minter was injured, but she is awake and alert at a Dallas hospital. She is expected to make a full recovery, police said.

BULLARD, Texas — Family members have announced funeral services for the two young children killed in a Bullard shooting Sunday night.

Four-year-old Madilynn "May May" Evans and 2-year-old Maison "Mace Mace" Evans were found dead alongside their mother Tatyanna Smith, 25, on Sunday in a home in the 500 block of Guinn St., near Bullard High School.

Smith's other child, 8-month-old Lyric Minter, was injured because of the shooting, but she is awake and alert at a Dallas hospital. Lyric is expected to make a full recovery, Bullard Police Department Sgt. Judith Tuell said.

The services are set for Saturday, Sept. 7, at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. The visitation will be held at 10 a.m. with the service following at 11 a.m.

A GoFundMe seeking $30,000 to fund the unexpected funeral expenses and other costs was set up earlier this week.

Beaty Funeral Home will also be taking donations for funeral expenses as well.

Bullard Police Chief Jeff Bragg said there's no person of interest in this case at this time, and multiple people have been contacted as part of the investigation.
