FEMA to close Smith County disaster recovery center

FEMA has set a deadline of Aug. 15 for Smith County residents to register for individual assistance with their storm damages.

TYLER, Texas — FEMA has announced it will close its Disaster Recovery Center in Tyler on July 29. 

The center located at The Hub in downtown Tyler (304 E. Ferguson St.) will close as a disaster recovery center at 6 p.m.

According to Smith County Emergency Management coordinator Brandon Moore, FEMA have approved 3,261 Smith County residents for individual assistance, for a total of over $12 million.

FEMA has set a deadline of Aug. 15 for Smith County residents to register for individual assistance with their storm damages. For other area Disaster Recovery Center locations, go online to fema.gov/drc.
