LONGVIEW, Texas — When a Catholic priest’s morally questionable friend dies, it’s up to him and his Purgatory-bound buddy’s sons to save the late man’s legacy: a community center. And they’ll have to win a pickleball game to do it.
A good laugh — mixed with a message of people coming together for a common cause — is the theme of the movie “Pickleball,” which has been filming in Longview.
The comedy is produced by East Texas-based independent movie company Ichthys Films and stars standup comedian Kevin Farley as Father Joseph. Farley’s brother, Chris, was known for his roles on "Saturday Night Live" and in numerous movies.
