LONGVIEW, Texas — A Desoto man was sentenced to 55 years in prison after the 2017 killing of a 22-year-old in Longview.

In Oct. 2017, Cody Dewayne Fortman shot Nicholas Trevion Johnson multiple times inside a Longview house on Annette Drive. Johnson later died in the hospital of his wounds, and witnesses identified Fortman to police as the shooter.
