City of Marshall announces water conservation notice after failed pump

The city is asking individuals to refrain from non-essential water use until further notice.

MARSHALL, Texas — The city of Marshall declared a Stage 4 water Conservation alert Monday for both residents and businesses after a water pump failed. 

The city is not under any other water notices, and day-to-day uses are still permitted, but the city is asking residents to practice conserving water on non-essential uses. 

This includes filling pools and tubs, washing cars and watering plants until further notice from the city.
