TEXAS, USA — The start of the 2024-2025 school year is right around the corner. CBS19 has compiled a list of events school districts, others are holding to help you be prepared for the school year.
July 27
- Whitehouse First Assembly Church: Back to School health fair, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Event will have backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, sports physicals and more.
- Brownsboro High School: Back to School Health Fair, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Backpacks, school supplies, socks and shoes, haircut vouchers and more.
July 29
- Marshall-Harrison County Health District: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Back to School Vaccine Clinic and School Supplies. First 50 kids to receive all age appropriate recommended vaccines will get a backpack with school supplies.
August 1
11th annual School Is Cool: From 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Rose Garden Center and the W.T. Brookshire Conference Center, located at 2000 W. Front St. Children in attendance will get free backpacks filled with school supplies for the first 2,000 school-aged children in line, along with other free services and vendors. Services include free haircuts, immunizations and vision tests.

August 3
- Green Acres: Back to School Fair; 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Offers well-child checkups and vaccines, free backpacks and school supplies for children at the event.
- Chapel Hill ISD: Back 2 School Expo, 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., Register new and returning students, receive resources, community fun and games.
- Lufkin ISD: Back to School Stay in School Rally, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Lufkin Middle School. Food, fellowship and facts about the importance of student attendance.
- Longview: Back to School Community Fair, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Broughton Recreation Center. Backpacks and school supplies, hygiene gift bag giveaways
August 4
- New Vision MBC: Back to School supply drive; Accepting donations for pencils, paper, pens, markers, colored pencils, notebooks, folders, binders, glue and erasers. Supplies can be dropped of at any New Vision MBC locations.
August 5
- Longview ISD: JaMycal Hasty Back to School Celebration; Foster Middle School 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. This celebration will have FREE gift cards to purchase uniforms, hygiene packs, gift cards and giveaways, backpacks, and haircuts.
August 9
- Yates Park Curbside School Supply Train: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., Henderson Civic Center. Free school supplies while supplies. Kids must be present in car with the adult.
August 11
- 903 Cutz: Haircuts and backpacks; 9 a.m. - First 50 kids receive free haircuts along with a free backpack. The next 50 will receive a backpack after their paid haircuts.
