2 arrested after multiple dogs at East Texas city kennel found malnourished, with mange

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, at least one animal has died at the facility and most of the animals housed at the kennel appeared to have mange.

CENTER, Texas — Two Center residents have been arrested for animal cruelty.

Robert Lindley and Christal Lindley, were arrested after an investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff Office found unsuitable living conditions at a local dog kennel maintained by the Lindley's.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, at least one animal has died at the facility and most of the animals housed at the kennel appeared to have mange and be malnourished due to inadequate airflow.

Approximately 14 dogs are being released to Nicolas Pet Haven, an animal rescue organization out of Tyler, the press release said.

Both are being held at the Shelby County Jail.
