UPSHUR COUNTY — David Allen Vance, a 37-year-old Winnsboro man, died after his truck veered off the road, hit a ditch and caught on fire just after 11 p.m. Sunday on Farm to Market Road 2088.
According to DPS, an investigation showed that Vance was heading west in a Silverado when, for reasons unknown, the truck veered off of the road to the right in a curve, hit a ditch and caught fire.
Vance was pronounced dead on the scene and was taken to a funeral home in Gilmer.
Authorities are still investigating this crash.
