LONGVIEW, Texas — Officials have determined that a private hangar at the East Texas Regional Airport in Longview that caught fire Saturday evening is destroyed.
According to Gregg County Chief Deputy Craig Harrington, the backside of a hangar housed on the property of the East Texas Regional Airport caught fire Saturday evening. It was unoccupied when the the fire broke out.
Longview and Elderville crews worked to get the flames under control.
Max Tovar, the airport director, told the Longview News-Journal, that the fire did not affect airport operations, but the blaze destroyed the aircraft and other contents of the hangar, which was on the southeast side of the airport.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

"ELVFD responded with a total of 4 Engines, 2 Tenders, and 12 Personnel," ELVFD said. "We would also like to thank Longview Fire Department Station 3, and Gregg County Sheriff Office airport Fire unit for their assistance."
