Shaina Workman, a 24-year-old Gilmer woman, was arrested after Upshur County deputies found her two-year-old girl and a one-year-old boy alone in a home at around 4 p.m. Wednesday on the 3600 block of Bob-O-Link Road.
According to the Upshur County Sheriff's Office, deputies were at the home about 45 minutes before Workman arrived.
Workman told authorities that she and another person had taken a trip to Longview, leaving the children alone at the house.
Authorities arrested Workman, booked her into the Upshur County Jail and charged with two counts of Abandoning or Endangering a Child, a State Jail Felony.
Workman was arraigned Thursday morning and bond was set at $60,000.
The children were not injured and were turned over to Child Protective Services.
