Grand Saline Fire Department, several agencies investigate unknown 'odor' in Van Zandt County

The odor is not posing a threat to the public at this time.

VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas — Several East Texas law enforcement and fire officials are responding to reports of an unknown 'odor' in Van Zandt County.

According to Grand Saline Fire Department Public Information Officer, Caden Mosher, Grand Saline Fire Department, Grand Saline Police Department, Grand Saline Fire Marshal Office and the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office responded to several calls regarding an unknown 'odor' from the Northeastern part of Van Zandt County within the past 24 hours.

Several agencies have not been able to identify the source of the odor, Mosher said.

Currently, the odor poses no threat to the public.

Mosher has confirmed several agencies in Van Zandt County have responded to similar reports of odor within the last 48 hours.
