SMITH COUNTY — Authorities are investigating after 73-year-old Flint native, Connie Sorie Dana, died in a vehicle crash that happened at around 2 p.m. Thursday on County Road 1261, just southwest of Tyler.
According to DPS, preliminary crash reports indicate that Dana was driving west on County Road 1261 when for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the south side of the roadway, hit a ditch, overturned, then caught fire.
The vehicle stopped off the south side of the roadway.
Dana was pronounced at the scene and taken to a Tyler funeral home.
