SMITH COUNTY, Texas — A Smith County man has died following an apparent drowning on Lake Tyler.
According to Sgt. Larry Christian with the Smith County Sheriff's Office, Kendrick Young, 27, of Winona, went missing Sunday after reportedly going fishing at Lake Tyler.
After Young failed to come home Monday, the SCSO says Young's mother went to the lake to search for him and found his car and belongings on the bank near CR 230 and Gordon's Landing Rd., just west of Arp. She then called 911.
Deputies responded to the area and found Young's body under a nearby bridge.
Foul play is not suspected.
