ORLANDO, Fla. — Crews and personnel from SWEPCO departed early Tuesday for Orlando ahead of Hurricane Ian.
The electric company sent more than 300 personnel from three states to help utility companies fix power in Florida this week after Hurricane Ian makes landfall.
According to a press release, Drew Seidel, SWEPCO's vice president of distribution region operations, said they are prepared to bring back power to the people of Florida.
“SWEPCO employees and contractors will be staged and ready to restore power for Florida residences and businesses once the storm passes,” Seidel said. “Just as other utility companies have answered our call in times of need, we’ll be ready to assist those who are impacted by this storm.”
The company has employees from districts including Shreveport, Longview and Texarkana to provide assistance to any outages caused by the hurricane.
