TODAY:
We are waking up to a few scattered showers and thunderstorms this morning. These may impact your morning commute, but they will be stay non-severe. However, strong to severe storms are on the way overnight. A line of storms will reach our area between 8 and 10 pm tonight and bring gusty winds, hail and the potential for tornadoes. As of now, the Storm Prediction Center placed most of our area under a level 2 (out of 5 risk) for severe weather. A level 3 risk is falling to the northwest and creeping into part of Wood, Upshur and Camp counties.
The window for severe weather starts around 8 PM and continues through 10 AM tomorrow morning. Since this is an overnight threat, make sure to check the forecast before you go to bed tonight. It's a good idea to have a working NOAA weather radio near your nightstand and to double check that your phone has Wireless Emergency Alerts enabled.

ELECTION DAY:
The strong to severe storms are forecasted to last into tomorrow morning. That means that, if you're heading to the polls before work, you'll likely encounter a storm and some gusty winds. Plan extra time for your morning drive and be alert for any debris that may have blown into the roadways. The strongest of the storms are forecasted to clear by 10 AM, but scattered showers will last through the rest of the day. High temperatures will be much cooler, only making it into the upper 60s with a north breeze. Gradually the sun may start to peak through by the afternoon.
