Gilmer man arrested in connection with Longview hit-and-run that killed motorcyclist

After the wreck, police issued a warrant for Victor Frausto-Lopez's arrest on the charge of an accident involving injury or death.

LONGVIEW, Texas — A Gilmer man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left one motorcyclist dead last week in Longview. 

Victor Frausto-Lopez, 37, was identified as the driver of the vehicle who caused the Oct. 5 crash in the area of West Marshall Ave and Bill Owens Parkway that killed 25-year-old Tristen Gore of Longview, police said. 

Frausto-Lopez then fled the scene, according to Longview police.

After the wreck, police issued a warrant for Frausto-Lopez's arrest on the charge of an accident involving injury or death. Longview officers were assisted by an Upshur County Sherriff’s Office deputy in making the arrest.

The police department thanked the Upshur County Sherriff's Office for assisting in the investigation.

His bond has been set at $15,000.
