SMITH COUNTY, Texas — Officials say a Smith County road has reopened Tuesday afternoon following a gas leak.
After two weeks, County Road 2162 was reopened after a gas leak was located and plugged on an old “Legacy Oil Week” head, according to the Smith County Fire Marshal's Office.
On Oct. 17, an unidentified gas leak was reported in the right-of-way of Smith County Road 2162, near Troup, according the Smith County Fire Marshal Chad Hogue. A portion of CR 2162, just about one-half mile east of CR 135 was closed off during this time.
