NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas — One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash on US Highway 59 in Nacogdoches County Wednesday night.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2018 Dodge SUV was traveling north on US 59 when it drove into the southbound lanes and hit a 2006 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer head-on.
Officials said after the collision the Peterbilt caught on fire and burned.
The driver of the Peterbilt truck was identified as Titus Jackson, 46, from Coushatta, LA. Jackson was taken to a Nacogdoches hospital to treat his injuries, officials said.
The driver of the other car received injuries as well and was taken to a Tyler hospital. Officials confirmed the passenger of this vehicle was ejected during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation and there is no further details, officials said.
