ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas — Three people, including two children, were injured in a crash involving an 18-wheeler in Angelina County Thursday afternoon, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said.

The crash happened on State Highway 103 at State Highway 7 at about 4:30 p.m.

According to DPS, a Ford pickup driven by 33-year-old Benjamin Bauld was traveling west on SH 7 and turned left across SH 103. DPS says the vehicle was trying to get onto a private drive.

A semi-truck, driven by 31-year-old Jorge Vasquez, hit the pickup when it drove into the semi-truck's path.

A helicopter took Bauld to a Tyler hospital for treatment.

A 10-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy in Bauld's pickup also went to a Lufkin hospital for treatment.

Vasquez was not not hurt in the crash.
