TYLER - It was homecoming weekend in Tyler for Texas College. The Steers were looking for their first win of the season against the Texas Wesleyan Rams who are currently 0-5. The Rams have brought back their football program after going 75 years without a team. The Steers though, were able to capitalize early on in the first quarter.
Quarterback Sean Stell found freshmen wide receiver Ronald Harris who took off from the 50-yard line to score the first touchdown for Texas College. Then in second quarter Stell connected with wide out Diamond Woods to go up 14-0.
In the end the Steers top the Rams 21-11 and get their first win of the season. Next week Texas College travels to Tulsa, Oklahoma to take on Langston University. The game starts at 2 p.m.
