NACOGDOCHES - The Central Heights baseball team had an outstanding 2017 season that saw them finish 37-2 and win their first state title since 2004.
The 2018 season could be just as good as the Blue Devils bring back their top player, pitcher Grayson Rodriguez.
On Wednesday, Rodriguez firmed up his plans for the future as he officially signed with Texas A&M.
In his junior season, Rodriguez put together some impressive numbers and capped it off with a 2-hit shutout in the state semifinals.
While he's a top recruit for the Aggies, there's no guarantee he'll ever see the field in College Station. Rodriguez is one of the top players, if not the #1 player, in the state of Texas and there will likely be a lot of interest in him in the 2018 MLB draft.
But for now, he's excited to sign with the Aggies and looking forward to his senior season at Central Heights.
