Cowboys playoff ticket prices are already spiking -- even the ones without a seat

A seat inside AT&T Stadium will be a hot ticket in the opening round of the playoffs. How so? Expect to pay into triple figures just for standing room access.

DALLAS — Let the postseason buzz and excitement begin!

The NFC East Champion Dallas Cowboys are hosting the Green Bay Packers at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs.

And so it's no surprise that a seat inside AT&T Stadium will be a very hot ticket.

Even if you don't have an actual seat, you can still expect to pay into triple figures just to get into the building.

The Cowboys announced that a limited number of new tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. on Tuesday through team affiliate SeatGeek. But while it's not clear how many tickets will be available -- or for how much they'll be going for -- the secondary ticket market is already giving us a good idea of how pricey Sunday's game will be for attendees.

When we looked Monday afternoon on Ticketmaster and Stubhub, both of which had resale tickets listed for Sunday's game, standing room-only tickets on the secondary market were starting in the low $100s.

Meanwhile, any ticket that gets you an actual seat in the building was starting in the mid-$200s.

Oh, and if you want to sit closer than the top deck of AT&T Stadium? That'll be around $400 and going up from there. And we mean way up -- as in over $1,000 to sit between the end zones.

Those standing room-only tickets, by the way, offer access for the end zone plaza areas on each side of the stadium. That's why you'll see fans rush the doors when the stadium open at each home game; it's SRO ticketholders trying to get a prime viewing spot on a plaza.

All of this is, of course, to be expected. Even regular season Cowboys games make for an expensive day.

This coming weekend, though, the Cowboys have a chance to avenge recent postseason losses to the Packers. As fans no doubt recall, Green Bay eliminated Dallas from the 2016 playoffs, beating the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in the NFC Divisional round. Then we all remember what happened two years earlier, when Dallas lost at Green Bay in the Divisional round after Dez Bryant's infamous fourth-down catch was called incomplete.

By the way: If you're planning to head to the game Sunday, the AT&T Stadium parking lots will open at 10 a.m. The stadium's east plaza and Miller Lite House opens at 11 a.m., and the stadium gates open at 1 p.m. ahead of the 3:30 p.m. kickoff.

The Cowboys also on Monday announced the game will be a "white out," meaning they're asking fans to wear white outfits to match the Cowboys' home white jerseys.

Fans will also receive a white rally towel for the game.
