TEXAS, USA — All the conference championships are over and the College Football Playoff selection committee has picked the 12 schools who will duke it out for the national championship.
Two Texas schools made it into the 12-team bracket.
For those who did not make it to the dance, they were matched up among the many bowl games that will be played throughout the rest of December and into the new year. This season, an exact 82 teams qualified to be bowl eligible (six wins) for the 82 spots in the bowl season.

Texas lost in the SEC Championship game against Georgia and was slotted in the No. 5 seed to play at home against Clemson.
SMU lost in the ACC Championship game against Clemson and will play on the road against Penn State.
