ATLANTA — A former East Texas star athlete turned MLB pitcher's season is in doubt.
According to MLB.com, Brook Hill graduate A.J. Minter will undergo surgery on his left hip next week.
“He tried to fight it the best he could,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said. “It just didn’t work out for him. I have a lot of respect for that guy. He’s a gamer and he’s been such a big part of what we’ve done the past few years.”
This injury also sidelined him earlier this year and he opted out of surgery at that point, the MLB reports.
For his career, Minter has recorded 24 wins in 384 games, with an ERA of 3.28 and 36 saves.
