East Texas native Michael Kopech traded to Los Angeles Dodgers

Kopech, a Mt. Pleasant grad, has played five seasons in the MLB all with the Chicago White Sox and has pitched in 43 games in 2024.

LOS ANGELES — East Texas native Michael Kopech has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three team trade with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Erick Fedde and Tommy Pham will go to St. Louis. Kopech and Tommy Edman will head to Los Angeles.

Kopech, a Mt. Pleasant grad, has played five seasons in the MLB all with the Chicago White Sox and has pitched in 43 games in 2024. 

This season Kopech has a 4.74 ERA and has only allowed eight homeruns while striking out 59 batters.

The East Texan will be leaving the White Sox who currently hold the worst record in baseball (27-81) for the Dodgers who are currently tied for the third best record. (63-44)
