TYLER, Texas — Pure volleyball talent like London Wiseman-King doesn't come around often. She's been excelling around East Texas ever since she picked up the sport in fourth grade when she lived in Lufkin.
From there, she moved to Whitehouse and joined the volleyball team as well as playing for the local ETA1 club team.
She began playing for ETA1 in eighth grade and was on the Whitehouse varsity team in ninth and tenth grade, helping lead the Lady Wildcats to the playoffs in both years while earning All-District honors.
Now, her skill set has earned her a golden opportunity.
It's no question that she's one of the best on any court at tournaments and those watching shared a similar sentiment. She received an official offer from IMG Academy in Florida following a tryout in Atlanta.
IMG Academy is a preparatory boarding high school that features some of the best athletes in their respective sports across the country. Now, Wiseman-King has earned her spot among the nations best high school volleyball players.
"It's really eye opening to see what I can actually do now," Wiseman-King said. "The new opportunities to expand my skill level and my academics. I'm looking forward to growing more with my mind and physical sport. It's amazing."
It's the perfect fit for an athlete who has had a meteoric rise throughout her young career. It also fits her goals as she continues her volleyball and academic journey.
"My favorite memory here was making new friends. I'm really going to miss them, but that was my favorite memory," Wiseman-King said. "My overall goal is to go to a Division-I school somewhere in the country, then hopefully one day I can play pro if I still want to lead on that career path."
