CARTHAGE, Texas — It's FINALLY here! East Texas high school football is back! And what better way to kick off the 2024 season than with the #BattleOfTheBulldogs — Kilgore vs. Carthage — our CBS19 Under the Lights Game of the Week!
The Kilgore Bulldogs put up impressive numbers last year ending the season 12-2. One of those losses came at the hands of Carthage at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium. Kilgore fell to Chapel Hill in the playoffs, which was their second loss on the year.
Last season, Carthage was on a quest for the coveted 10th state title but met their match — the Gilmer Buckeyes — in the playoffs. That was the Bulldogs' only "L" last year and they're hoping to bring home the hardware in 2024.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 30, at Carthage Bulldog Stadium.
