TEXAS, USA — We're getting down to the nitty gritty, folks.
Forty-eight teams are vying for the final 24 spots in the 12 Texas high school state championship games played at AT&T Stadium. The UIL State semifinals are filled with numerous noteworthy storylines, and Thursday marked the end of the road for some teams and the continuation along the path to glory for others.

Southlake Carroll and Vandegrift will compete for the 6A-D2 state championship on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 3 p.m.

- Angleton 14, Smithson Valley 21
Smithson Valley will play Highland Park for the 5A-D1 state championship on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m.
5A-D2 UIL football scores

- Randle 42, Boerne 7
South Oak Cliff and Randle will compete for the 5A-D2 state championship on Friday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.
4A-D1 UIL football scores
