East Texas gears up for Super Bowl LVIII watch parties

"We'll have drink specials, food specials and just a grand old time," Holiday Inn Catering Manager Mercedes Duenas said.

TYLER, Texas — With the Super Bowl just around the corner, East Texas is buzzing with excitement as businesses gear up to host watch parties for Cheifs and 49ers fans alike.

From Longview, the hometown of the 49ers' Trent Williams to the stomping grounds of the Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, locals are preparing to celebrate the big game in style.

At the Holiday Inn North Longview preparations are underway for a watch party at the Lambortini.

"We'll have drink specials, food specials and just a grand old time," Holiday Inn Catering Manager Mercedes Duenas said.

In Whitehouse the Montez Creekside Kitchen is also looking forward to the large crowd Sunday.

"The rush, the adrenaline. I know it's going to be super crowded and I love talking to people and making new friends," Waitress Raylee Rios said.

The Montez Creekside Kitchen is offering several Mahomes themed items on their menu for fans to savor on during the game.

"We have our Patrick Mahomes dog and a Kelsey dog. So, we have two after the star players of the Kansas City Chiefs. They're foot-long hot dogs, one comes with pork, a fried egg on it, which is the Mahomes dog. It's very good," Rios said.

If Longview or Whitehouse doesn't work for you, True Vine in Tyler will feature a 25-foot projection screen and $4 beer specials.

Despite the potential of rain, True Vine, Lambortini, and Montez Creekside Kitchen are prepared with both indoor seating and outdoor patio areas, ensuring the party goes on rain or shine.
