TYLER, Texas — Some of the best players in football come out of East Texas.
Fourteen players from the region are currently on active rosters, and are making a difference as teams begin to seriously push for the playoffs.
Below are the contributions of every East Texan playing at the game's highest level:
Patrick Mahomes (Whitehouse, Chiefs) threw for 196 yards and three touchdowns in the Chiefs 31-20 loss of the season. He completed 23 of 33 passes with two interceptions. It is Kansas City's first loss of the year.
Trent Wiliams (Longview, 49ers) started in the 49ers' close loss to the Seahawks 20-17. The San Francisco offensive line allowed two sacks, and allowed for a combined 131 yards of rushing.
Demarvion Overshown (Arp, Cowboys) totaled five tackles, four of coming solo in the Cowboys 34-10 loss on Monday Night Football. Overshown assisted on one other tackle.
Beaux Limmer (Tyler Legacy, Rams) started in the Rams win over the Patriots 28-22. The Rams' line allowed no sacks, and pushed for 107 rushing yards.
